Meet Emily
Hello, my name is Emily and I am birth and postpartum doula. I have worked in many labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum units at various hospitals for over a decade but have had a calling to go into doula work. I finally took the leap which led me to where I am now. My goal is to help new parents and families from the beginning of their pregnancy, adoption, or surrogacy journey through postpartum. To assist you in making an informed decision I will provide evidence-based information and resources. I'm here to help. You will have a toolbox full of resources and the confidence to implement them. My plan is to have you look back at the end of this experience and say that was amazing. Thank you for taking the time to read about me. I Iook forward to hearing about you and your family!
Services
Labor Doula
- Tech support
- Home visit to go over baby's set up and answer any questions
- 1 prenatal session where we create a personalized birth plan based on your ideal birth
- Join you at 1 prenatal visit at 36 to 37 weeks of pregnancy
- Support you and your support person throughout your labor and delivery, and up to 2 hours after birth
- Help latch baby, if desired
- Assist you with skin to skin, if desired
- 1-week postpartum visit at home or in a public setting if you want to get out of the house
Postpartum Doula
- Daytime tech support
- Physical and emotional recovery support for mom
- Breast or bottle feeding support
- Provide time and room for self-care, for example to go on a walk or take a nap, to help you relax
- Create space to help foster mother baby bonding
- Light duty cleaning (vacuuming, washing breast pump parts/bottles, washing baby's laundry, and emptying trash)
- Light grocery shopping/errands
- SIDS education/newborn sleep safety
- Postpartum depression assessment
